O.P.I The Man With The Golden Gun + China Glaze Red Satin

Hi! Happy Tuesday :) Pic heavy post here... O.P.I The Man With The Golden Gun is the 18k gold flake topcoat from the Bond collection. I like it a lot but not nearly as much as the gold flake tc they did for sephora (here). The flakes are larger and not as easy to get onto the nail... not sure if there is too much suspension base or if they're all settled to the bottom though. The downside of the gorgeous GOLD bottle (which really may be the only reason I got it) is not being able to see what is going on in there.. lol!

Layered here over China Glaze Red Satin. (roughly 3 coats on some nails.. I had to dab it on a bit)

and here is Red Satin (from the 2012 holiday collection) on it's own @ 3 coats for opacity, creme/jelly hybrid

O.P.I Goldeneye

Hi! Long weekend all but over..goes so fast! I haven't picked up too many from the Bond collection...yet. Definitely needed Goldeneye though when I saw it at the grocery store the other day. (why grocery stores sell O.P.I and Sally's doesn't I will never understand. My Wegman's puts out collections quicker than Ulta sometimes lol) This was also my Thanksgiving mani but I'm not sure it was too festive. It's a golden microflakie and opaque in 3 coats for me :) It pays to be neat with these types, veryy difficult clean up.

:)

What were your picks from Bond? Just this, Skyfall & The Man With The Golden Gun for me so far but I need MORE!

A favorite mani + ** blingy international GIVEAWAY!**

Hi! Happy Sunday :) Hope everyone is hanging onto and enjoying the remainder of the weekend like me. Sorry the blog has been quiet, school sucks :p I am finding it extremely challenging with my old and tired brain. After this post I have to figure out how I am to learn 5 chapters of psych tonight AND not fail my math test tomorrow. crappity crap. Procrastinating life, lol. I hope to find a good balance here with the blog and do a lot more prepping/planning when I have free time so posting is easier. I am soo disorganized with posting so that doesn't help.

Anyway, I saw this mani on a friend and I just HAD to have it. I am not much for nail art (I love it, just horribly impatient/lack of talent..) so I love a fun top coat. $OPI's It's Real 18k gold tc is perfect. I love how delicate and teensy the flakes are. Seems like everyone has one out right now. (Zoya & O.P.I in the new bond collection) and I want them all... but this will probably remain my fav. Here is ONE coat over nails inc.'s Baker Street. (a layer of gelous was used before seche vite for glassiness)

China Glaze Swanky Silk + Deborah Lippmann comparison

Hi! I've been blog tardy for a bit due to a nasty wisdom tooth infection.  So nasty I got a huge box of polish and didn't even care to open it for 2 days. The horror. Let it go way too long and by the time I called my dentist they couldn't get me in for a few days. Ended up going to the ER with a swollen face, fever and rocket-y blood pressure from pain. There's no dentists at the ER (and no pliers they insisted.. not buying it) but there is pain medication and antibiotics. Got to relax and think about magical unicorns for a while. So, I have probably been too high to post this week. Sadly I really need to get these teeth out before classes start. SIGH. I am terrified.

Anyway, in my stupor I was able to do my first ever comparison! Haha. I actually have a few comparisons to post. I will show you Swanky Silk first :

Swanky Silk is a champagne to pink flashing duochome, that fails to show up well on my camera no matter what I do. This is 3 coats.

shade.

I just knew this was going to be a good dupe for DL Sugar Daddy. It's more than that though - a dead on dupe. Couldn't even note a difference in the formulas. Both need 3 coats, both have the same duochrome strength :

Sugar Daddy on Middle & Pinkie

I really love this shade and happy to have a dupe. Particularly because my Sugar Daddy flew from my clutch and collided with my tile... just lost some glass but I can't bear to decant it from it's pretty bottle. I will use Swanky Silk up or bleed I guess.

sugar daddy has sads.

China Glaze - I'm Not Lion

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend! Today I have one of the glitters from the On Safari collection - I'm Not Lion. Really pretty white gold and holo mix of glitters, I found it opaque in 2 coats but 3 wouldn't have hurt for the pics...

so dazzling. i really love the ChG glitter formula btw, generally very easy to work with.

nOPI - Purple Yourself Together

This one was part of the spring 2012 Target exclusives. The only one I picked up... cannot resist these purple/gold polishes. I think I have at least 5 polishes similar to this lol. It's okay though, always a gorgeous combo! The formula of Purple Yourself Together wasn't great... kinda sheer and runny. This is 3 coats.

ORLY - Rage.

Good Evening lovelies! :) Tonight I wanted to post ORLY Rage - this polish gets a lot of love, and deservedly so. It's a beautiful rose gold foil! Also, practically a 1 coater! Very dense. Lovely formula though. Sadly it chips very quickly :( within 24 hours I had 3 pretty big chips. w.e though I change polish far too often for it to really matter to me.. lol. Thought I would throw that out there though for you ladies who like to enjoy a good mani for a while. (Sadly I chose to wear it when I had no time to change polish in 4 days so... it was pretty gnarly by the time I got to taking it off.)

Too much for my flash. I'm investing in a real camera soon... lol

Need more ORLY's!

(purple is somewhere in between, more prominent than in the no flash)

...and another pic the bottle!

Speciall.. I always DREAD the clean up on these ones though. Those flakes go everywhere and they stay like super glue on my skin. Anyone have tips for clean up on these types of polishes? I'd love to hear them!

First Post -- Hi! & China Glaze - Midtown Magic

Helloo! Hoping I am not just going to talk to myself forever here =) Excited to start a polish blog. I used to be a nail biter and horrific at polish application so I never even bothered with it much until a few months ago when I saw some cute nail art on a beauty blog.. looked into it more and found out about stamping plates and seeing it was all DIY I looked into general polishing tips (I youtubed 'how to apply nail polish'. legit.) Okay so I am still learning with application! I clean up with pure acetone and an angle shadow brush... work in progress. Hopefully things will improve from here. Working on growing out my nails on an ongoing basis...seem to always get frustrated and chop them down to nubs in hopes they will finally grow out nicely next time.

Anyway, I hope to swatch my entire collection! My collection is super dominated by China Glaze so it seems appropriate to start out with one I really love from their new fall collection - Metro

This is Midtown Magic!

Midtown Magic is a DARK plum jelly base with orangey/red/gold shimmer.

and a little shimmer dance macro :)

Yayy finally made a post.
I hope to update frequently and find some followers! =)
