O.P.I The Man With The Golden Gun + China Glaze Red Satin

Hi! Happy Tuesday :) Pic heavy post here... O.P.I The Man With The Golden Gun is the 18k gold flake topcoat from the Bond collection. I like it a lot but not nearly as much as the gold flake tc they did for sephora (here). The flakes are larger and not as easy to get onto the nail... not sure if there is too much suspension base or if they're all settled to the bottom though. The downside of the gorgeous GOLD bottle (which really may be the only reason I got it) is not being able to see what is going on in there.. lol!

Layered here over China Glaze Red Satin. (roughly 3 coats on some nails.. I had to dab it on a bit)

and here is Red Satin (from the 2012 holiday collection) on it's own @ 3 coats for opacity, creme/jelly hybrid

Deborah Lippmann Let's Hear it for the Boy

Hi! Tonight I have another DL post - this is Let's Hear it for the Boy, a pastel blue creme. I put off trying this forever... idk why! the formula on this is like butter. Really really easy application, definitely a pleasant surprise for a pastel creme :) I'll definitely be bringing it out again soon for spring time. Not ready yet!

Is it already the middle of January? Can we get some snow please ??

butter LONDON Toff, lippy & laquer duo

Today I have a Lippy & Laquer duo from BL :) I was after Toff for a while so I was thrilled to see it in both forms at my door. I've had these a while now, and worn them both a few times... this review is long overdue!

They look so close in the bottles! The lippy is definitely a bit more neutral but still very close to the polish.

butter LONDON describes Toff  -"A darker, dustier, brownish variation on a rose pink nail lacquer. Stop to smell them. The roses, not the toffs."

2 coats. Toff wanted to look different in all of my pics, but this is the most color accurate ^

LIPPY!

Very creamy and opaque formula. Smelled something like delicious cake batter to me, very sweet.

They have some really awesome new sets out for the holiday season! As well as some amazing new polishes.
Check them out @ www.butterlondon.com/

Chanel - Vertigo

Hi! Very happy to be doing a blog post. Made it through my first week of classes and it was rough! Much rougher than expected. I expect I will settle into some sort of routine soon enough...no? Maybe not. I have 5 classes with all pretty intense syllabi. Really mad that the one elective I took for enjoyment seems to be one of the more intense with papers and assignments... fail.

Anyway, Chanel Vertigo from the fall '12 collection is a gorgeous charcoal grey shade. I definitely saw some purple undertones on it. There's also a red shimmer in the bottle, that you will only see there. It does NOT translate on the nail unless you catch some SUPER sunlight, which I did for these pictures (as well as my camera really picked it up) I know you can barely see it in my pics anyway, but trust me that it is exaggerated. Kind of sad, but if you just look forward to it for it being a gorgeous grey creme you won't be disappointed.

2 coats. Terrifically smooth formula.

China Glaze - Exotic Encounters and a comparison

Hi! Happy Saturday! I have Exotic Encounters from the On Safari collection. A dusky teal creme. The formula was really nice and smooth, not too thick like some of their other recent polishes. I couldn't resist this one even though I was pretty sure I had something very similar... surprisingly, I do not.

I've seen a few people asking on the nail board if it was close to O.P.I Jade is The New Black, did a little comparison for myself. They're quite different, but in case you were wondering...

O.P.I If You Moust You Moust + Nothin Mousie 'bout It

Hi! Happy weekend! My "needs to be blogged" folder is over flowing..some stuff has been sitting around for ages bc I'm not super happy with the pics. I deleted a bunch of things to do over :( This I wanted to do over as well but had to draw the line somewhere LOL.

These 2 polishes are from the Vintage Minnie Mouse collection. The only fairly accurate pics I could get were in the shade. If You Moust You Moust is an fun shade of bubblegum pink, but the formula is kind of a big fail. Runny - almost watery and draggy. Not what I am used to from an OPI creme!

This is 2 coats :

Nothin Mousie 'bout It is a duochrome glassfleck top coat w. pink hearts (I did need to place the hearts with a toothpick)

Chanel - Frenzy

I've been on a real Chanel kick lately..not sure why, but I hope I get over it soon. I just want them all. I went so long resisting them..got one and it was all over!! Super collectible. Anyway, here is one of the new fall '12 shades, Frenzy. I would call it a taupe-y grey with lilacy pink and beige undertones, but that sounds like garbage. I do really love it though.

** did real blogger research Chanel calls it a lilac grey - hooray **

This was nice and opaque @ 2 coats. (and at $26 for a creme it better be, but I had my doubts that it would be)

and for fun... a pic of my new pals.

Essie No More Film + CND Copper Shimmer, Piu Mossoish

Hi! I tried to recreate one of my big lemmings here - RBL's Piu Mosso (which is coming back in november - yay) No More Film is  a deep blurple purple - it's really more purple. I was so excited - on my camera it actually looked like I got pics of it looking purple but when I uploaded the pics it is blueeeeee. Of course.

Here is 2 coats of it solo - it has a perfect creme formula, but don't be messy! or you will spend half your life cleaning up like me.

purplepurplepurple

more like that ^ ?

Okay so Piu Mosso is BLUE, but I tried this with No More Film's Essie sister Bobbing for Baubles which is actually a deep dusty navy but it just didn't look as nice..and once you get the copper shimmer over No More Film it looks blue...like my pics. sigh.

1 coat of copper shimmer

Way more of a tribute than a dupe...still will grab the real thing in the fall, but I love this combo! Obsessed with all things copper polish. Here are nailsandnom's swatches of the real beauty Piu Mosso

Butter London - Muggins

Hi! Happy Sunday! First off - my blogroll is temporarily removed because of the malware warnings :( Really didn't want to but everytime I removed a problematic blog another one popped up! Definitely don't want anyone to get anything from visiting my page or a link on my blog. Anyone know more about what is going on here?

Anyway..Muggins! I love Muggins. Another top 20 for me. It's a pale lilac that's a bit greyed. There seems to be mixed reports on the formula. I have to say I have no trouble with the formula, especially in comparison to other shades like this. I used 3 coats w. no lumping or dragging.

I can't believe this is the only pale lilac like this I have..doesn't Essie have like 14 of these? There is a good dent in this one. All the way down past the butter lettering! This makes me panic a little. A normal person may be happy they are actually using something.

Barry M - Mint Green

A true mint green without blue! That makes this unique for me. It applied beautifully in 3 coats. Have I mentioned before Barry M's have an amazing formula? I think I have. I kept trying to figure out what I should add to this but in the end I just left it alone and enjoyed it that way :) Got a few compliments on this as well.. everyone loves a mint polish, right?

Just For Audrey...

Oh I love you For Audrey.. I do. Even though I have thinned you many a time and your formula remains like molten taffy.

2 stringy coats

I haven't actually worn this since last summer, but last summer I used nearly half the bottle!

NARS - Trouville

I honestly had not a single baby pink creme in my collection of over 300...NARS released this one for summer 2012 along with the gorgeous Thakoon collection. Not really sure how I was able to overlook those gorgeous brights, but I couldn't stop thinking about Trouville. Suck it, no buy. So here she is, a pretty pink with a creme-jelly finish :

3 coats

<3 it! It's my first NARS, bought Orgasm along with it. Can't wait to try that one. Only complaint is the cap doesn't detach to reveal a better round one :( BUT IT LOOKS LIKE IT DOES. I sat around yanking both my bottles for 10 minutes before I gave up LOL..just happy I didn't break them.

O.P.I A Roll In The Hauge

Hi!! Just 1 day left of my giveaway, go ahead and enter if you have yet to! Link @ the top. Tonight I have short nails.. haha. O.P.I. A Roll In The Hague. I think this is my favorite from Holland, such an amazing orange. Great formula. This is intensely pigmented, beware of removal! I did not remove this in good light and walked around looking like I had my hand in a bag of cheetos all day...haha. I'll be reaching for this again soon though!

2 coats, it does dry a few shades darker as you can see.

What were your favs from the Holland Collex? Still have a few I need to try, but I'm pretty sure this will remain at the top. I love orange polish! Not sure why, in terms of colors orange is not high on my list!
