O.P.I The Man With The Golden Gun + China Glaze Red Satin

   Hi! Happy Tuesday :) Pic heavy post here... O.P.I The Man With The Golden Gun is the 18k gold flake topcoat from the Bond collection. I like it a lot but not nearly as much as the gold flake tc they did for sephora (here). The flakes are larger and not as easy to get onto the nail... not sure if there is too much suspension base or if they're all settled to the bottom though. The downside of the gorgeous GOLD bottle (which really may be the only reason I got it) is not being able to see what is going on in there.. lol!

 Layered here over China Glaze Red Satin. (roughly 3 coats on some nails.. I had to dab it on a bit)

and here is Red Satin (from the 2012 holiday collection) on it's own @ 3 coats for opacity, creme/jelly hybrid

Whimsical Sweet Baby James.. a terrible experience.

     HI! Pardon my nublins, I cut my nails all down last month after a bad break. They're in the process of evening out ... I had to photograph this polish though so I could whine about it. Whimsical nail polish by Pam - Sweet Baby James. And Sweet Baby Jesus, I have never despised a polish so much.. it's too bad because it looks adorable in the bottle. A milky blue base with a mixture of pink and translucent square glitter and some matte white hexes.

  There is no way to put this on other than glop it onto your nails..allll of the glitter wants to hang out together in clumps and it's impossible to calm it down. I have a good bunch of indie glitters and I've never encountered this..but I am sure it's common enough. What you're left with is a lumpy mess (STILL, even after using 3 coats of gelous and giant globs of seche vite it was NOT CLOSE TO SMOOTH.) that will never dry. I picked it off over 24 hours later and it was goop.

  I wonder if it is a matte glitter thing that they all stick together like static cling? IDK, but good lord I hate it.

Hits, Ares

  Hi! Happy Saturday :) Tonight I have some kind of sad photos of Hits Ares.. the holo just did not want to photograph, but also it didn't seem all that holo to begin with. Certainly not like some of the photos I've seen. I think I may have gotten a bum one! Still pretty though - and my only holo red! used 3 coats, it's kind of a jelly so it's a bit sheer.

  Today I have Bed of Roses from Misa, a gorgeous barbie pink jelly. It's a bit softer than it comes across in my pics. I used 4 coats here for opacity.

Halloween Blood Spatter!

Hope everyone had a nice Halloween! I think perhaps most of us who dealt with Sandy this weekend were a little distracted..hope you all and your loved ones got through it OK. I did fine outside of the city (never lost power!!) but we were lucky.

    Decided to do a blood spatter mani yesterday to be a little festive, I did the same thing last year and wearing it again made me realize how QUICKLY a year goes by. I'll be rocking this as long as it stays on.. makes me think of my favorite serial killer Dexter :)

Hi! Happy Sunday evening.. enjoying mine, Dexter and Homeland soon..and then Monday & Tuesday no classes. So far all I have to show for my weekend is some new swatches :) Wore Jelly Apple for the first time last week..HATE myself for having this on my untrieds for a year ++ ?! It's an awesome blue leaning bright RED jelly. I believe it is part of the core collection and ETF, if you don't have it. (Should be on larger retail displays) Shown here @ 2 coats..

Okay onto the polish - Today I am posting a new indie I got this week, CrowsToes Bone Daddy. It's a mix of different sized white hex and bar glitter with iridescent blue glowing microglitter in a grey jelly base. In love with it. I have it layered here over 4 coats of O.P.I My Pointe Exactly :)

Barielle Berry Blue + Icing Epic Winning

I had planned on swatching allll day today but it was totally gloomy and overcast :(  So that didn't work out. I really need a new camera and a lightbox asap. I keep forgetting it's about to start getting dark very early... the only crappy thing about the fall / winter. Anyway, here is something sparkly I clearly took on a much nicer day ages ago..

I started with Barielle Berry Blue.. I've seen some really nice swatches of this that look very jelly. It's definitely jelly-ish but mine was very thick and opaque.

Definitely needed some glitter!

Epic winning is full of holo and blue micro glitter.

Icing - So Fierce

 Happy Thursday! Today I have Icing - So Fierce. Very pretty sheer fuchsia base with loads of iridescent glitters. Used 4 coats here for opacity. Really love Icing polishes, hate that they're the same bottle as China Glaze tho.. hurts my organizing OCD.

Hi! Happy Sunday! There is actually sun today so I am happy. It's been MIA the last few days..which normally I would enjoy but I missed out on taking some swatch pics. boo hoo. I really need to construct a light box!

Anyway, I like sheer pinks. Do you? I don't think I've ever looked at one and not wanted to own it. I've been wearing a lot of them lately so here are two from recent times - China Glaze Innocence & Essie True Love

Innocence -

True Love is my NOTD today and I am really enjoying it as a palette cleanser, not too much color but it just gives a nice healthy pink glow. Also, I found it at TJ Maxx yesterday for $3.99 so I had to give it a good home.

Essie - Action

  Hi! Hope everyone had a nice weekend! Apologies if you're burnt out on neons...bc here is more neon! Well.. sorta neon. This is Essie Action from the summer 2012 Poppy-Razzi collection. It's a light yellowy neon jelly orange. Formula is nice but... this is 5 coats and not opaque. I am okay with that because I like the color. Definitely dries darker and more vibrant than it appears in the bottle!

NOTD Zoya Elodie

Loving Zoya Elodie! I've had this on for 3 days now..slightly unheard of. I did add another coat + tc to refresh it for pics..it was looking a little beat because I filed with it on, otherwise wearing very well. Coming off tonight though.. bored bored bored.

I would call it kind of a hot watermelon color - it's pinky/orange. Definitely a nice squishy jelly!

Icing - After Party

Hi! Today I have a fun Icing... I am really loving their polishes. Always BOGO 50% off and they have some amazing colors and glitters. This one is a multi color shredded glitter polish. (It's a total dupe for the new Cult Nails Happy Ending.) I have it here over four(rr) coats of O.P.I Don't Touch My Tutu. Yayy for two untrieds in one mani.
