Sephora by O.P.I Ruby Without a Cause

New $OPI's keep finding their way into my stash, this is one of them. Ruby Without a Cause is a new red - purple red shifting duochome. The bottle has a lot of teal but I caught none of that on my nails...

here is 2 coats,

look at that mega blue swirling in the bottle! I was expecting it on my nails so I was pretty disappoint. Still pretty though.

:)

Hope everyone keeps power through the storm if you're in it!
I should probably go buy candles or something.

American Apparel - Smoke Dazzle

Hi! Happy Saturday! Supposed to get to 103 degrees today..gross...not into it. NERP. My boyfriend is at a  free outdoor concert (the dirty heads)... I was supposed to go but, 103 degrees! All those sweaty people crammed together. Sounds smelly, no? Free concerts are a mess anyway, but the weather is a good excuse to pass. I would probably pass out anyway.  Hope you all have cooler ideas in mind if you're in this heat!

Anyway, today I have Smoke Dazzle from AA. One of their metallic polishes. It's a duochome beauty!! The  color shift in it is pretty similar to Butter London Knackered if you didn't like the holo glitter in that one. They're not dupes though.. get both. :) This is 3 coats.

most of the time it is this greenish color, but it's also grey..purple...pink..

Really love my AA polishes. I only have a few though,  I strongly dislike going in that store. I swear every time I go in there is a 13 year old yelling at her mother about how a bandeau is an appropriate top. -shudder- that is a whole other topic tho. What are your favorite AA polishes?

Essie - Swing Velvet

Hi! This is an oldie, not sure when it came out but I think much earlier last decade from what I can see. Still, had never seen it before. I would call it a metallic-y plummy red. In low light it really just looks like a burgundy wine color.. but when you get it in the sun you can really see its gorgeous purpley flash. It really does look like velvet! My camera just failed to pick that up. On me, this is definitely one of the most flattering shades I own so I love it intensely!

3 coats, 2 was probably fine though!

Picture it a bit more like this tho :

BTOUCH - Good Evening

Hi! Today I have one of the polishes from my bday haul I couldn't wait to try! BTOUCH Good Evening. Not sure if this is a newish brand or not. Can't seem to find much about it. Good Evening is a beauty though, a metallic charcoal loadedddd with micro holo glitter. The pictures don't really do this one justice. The glitter really dances! I used 3 coats that dried a bit gritty so I topped it with a coat of Gelous before using my Seche Vite. It dried rock hard super fast and wore great.

Need to get back to the supply shop to see what else BTOUCH has. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Butter London - Chimney Sweep

Hi all! Hope everyone is well tonight. Very excited about tonight's post! Butter London's Chimney Sweep. They were nice enough to send this to me, I've had a hard time finding this shade and I'm thrilled to finally own it.

Started as an obsession with Chanel's Black Pearl.. just been desperate to own a black like that, but never wanted to pay the price for it. When I saw this BL being so close I was so happy I'd get it cheaper and not in Chanel's chiptasmo formula!! Dior has a lovely similar shade as well, I'm sure theres a few other dupes around but you must have a metallic charcoal like this! OBSESSED.

2 coats, wonderful formula.. and no brush strokes!

in the sun!

They also sent me their Nail Foundation base coat & Hardwear quick dry top coat which I've heard both are amazing :

Can't wait to try these out!

Always looking for great metallics that are easy to apply nicely if anyone has any good recs for me!

China Glaze ~ Flip Flop Fantasy.

I don't really follow the 'seasonal' rules with colors, but I do for some reason feel strange wearing neons any other time but summer..so I thought I would swatch this while it's still hot! Unfortunately neons hate cameras. This was the only pic that the glow wasn't insane and it's not very color accurate. FFF is more orangey/coral than hot pink!

I always want to not use a top coat with neons as they dry a lovely matte, but always need to to smooth out imperfections.. bummer!
